Who runs this site

Explore Turks & Caicos is run from Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. We read the messages ourselves. You can reach us by email at lisa.franklin.bmt@gmail.com or on WhatsApp.

What this site collects

Nothing of its own. There are no accounts, no forms and no newsletter sign-up. The site carries no analytics or advertising tags of its own, and it sets no cookies of its own.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles the requests that serve these pages. That is how any website reaches your browser.

The one outside script is Peek's booking widget, with its stylesheet, on pages with an online booking. The next section says what it does.

Booking on Peek

Tours that can be booked online book through Peek, the booking system we use. On pages that carry an online booking, the site loads Peek's booking widget and its stylesheet from Peek's own servers. When it loads, it sends Peek one page view, to pathfinder.peeklabs.com, fetches a font from Google Fonts, and gets Peek's checkout ready in a hidden frame from book.peek.com. We switch off its Google Analytics option. A booking button sends Peek nothing more of its own: it opens that checkout.

When you book, you enter your details and pay in Peek's checkout, and Peek handles them under its own terms and privacy policy. We see the booking in our Peek account so we can run the tour.

Email, text and WhatsApp

You can reach us from this site by email, by text message or on WhatsApp, whichever you choose. Every WhatsApp button prefills the message; you decide whether to send it.

An email arrives in our Gmail inbox, run by Google. A text arrives on our phone through your mobile carrier. WhatsApp is run by Meta. Each handles the message under its own privacy policy. We keep the conversation so we can plan and confirm your trip. Once your trip is done, ask us to delete it and we will.

The Map

The Map is our interactive map of Providenciales, at planner.turksandcaicosexplore.com. Anything you build there is stored in your browser's localStorage, on your own device. Nothing leaves your device until you choose to send it to us on WhatsApp.

Clearing your browser data removes it. The Map runs no analytics either.

Third parties

A few services sit around this site. Each one applies its own terms and privacy policy to what you do there.

• WhatsApp. Carries the messages you send us. Run by Meta.
• Gmail. Carries the emails you send us. Run by Google.
• Your mobile carrier. Carries a text message you send us, as it does any text.
• Peek. The booking system for tours that can be booked online. Its widget and stylesheet load on pages with an online booking, and a booking runs under Peek's terms and privacy policy.
• Cloudflare. Hosts the site and serves the pages.

The footer also links out twice: to our Instagram page, and to NautiDigital, the studio that built this site. Opening either is your choice, and each applies its own policy from there.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you. Message us on WhatsApp or email lisa.franklin.bmt@gmail.com. We answer ourselves.

Changes

This page shows the date it was last reviewed. If the way the site works changes, this page changes with it.
